I tried what you suggested and after 0000 (on Area Code) it came up with a Password box which I put in 0000 again and it goes into the country code. For some reason mine is set to UK (maybe it was before, maybe not, not sure). However, it will still play only Region 1 (US) dvds and not Region 2 (Europe). There is a message at the bottom now that says something like it will play the disc according to the country of manufacturer of the disc. Note: I am in the US and bought it here and am trying to get it to where it plays my UK dvds as well as US ones.

. As a Brit, I often want DVDs that I just can't find in the U.S.
It's usually U.K. Comedy shows, most of which don't take off over here for some reason. And DVD regions used to be a problem for me.
But not anymore. (See also: ) As I'm sure you know, DVDs are coded to a region of the world. Here's how it breaks down: REGION 1 — USA, Canada REGION 2 — Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland REGION 3 — S.Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Parts of South East Asia REGION 4 — Australia, New Zealand, Latin America (including Mexico) REGION 5 — Eastern Europe, Russia, India, Africa REGION 6 — China REGION 7 — Reserved for Unspecified Special Use REGION 8 — Reserved for Cruise Ships, Airlines, etc. REGION 0, 9, or REGION ALL — Discs are uncoded and can be played worldwide So, here in the U.S., we're Region 1. In the U.K., discs are Region 2.
Region 1 discs won't play in region 2 players, and vice versa. Or so I was told when I first moved here 6 years ago.
But that's not true. Region coding can, in most cases, be removed from your DVD player using a simple remote-control code that unlocks the player. Why do we have region codes? I'm no expert on this, but I turn to a man who knows more than I do. Had this to say about the subject.
'Movies are released in theaters in different parts of the world at different times throughout the year. Windows 98 live cd. That Summer blockbuster in the U.S.
May end up being the Christmas blockbuster overseas. If that occurs, the DVD version of the movie may be out in the U.S. While it is still showing in theaters overseas.
In order to preserve the financial integrity of the theatrical distribution of a particular film, it is not possible (under normal conditions) to have a friend in the U.S. Send a DVD copy of the film to the country where it is in theatrical release and be able to play the DVD on a player there.' So, in a word, money. However, since the massive surge of the Internet, and release dates in countries around the world coming closer and closer together, it's fairly ridiculous to have region coding. In fact, many players are now code free. But, if yours isn't (and most aren't) you may be able to unlock it in a matter of seconds.right now.
Enough background.how do I unlock my player? The site I have used for the last few years is called VideoHelp.com, and they have a section of the site dedicated to. It's a simple search engine. Just take down the name and model number of your DVD player, and if a hack exists (there are thousands out there) then just print out the instructions, take your remote control and program your DVD player.
And there you have it. You can now play disks from Japan, England, Australia, anywhere you want! Here's the best part. You don't need an expensive player. In fact, the easiest players to unlock are at the cheaper end.
I bought a Phillips DVD player (DVP642) for $40 from BestBuy a few years ago, unlocked it in 10 seconds and watched a bunch of British comedy the same day. Yesterday, I upgraded that player to a DVD player with HD capability for the impending HDTV we'll need to buy. I checked out VideoHelp for players on the BestBuy website that had a remote hack available and found this one:. It was $89.99 (on sale from $99.99) and then I used the following region hack:.
Expansion pack 64. Power on. Push the info on remote once (with supplied remote).
You will see numbers. Press 9 for multi-region. Keep trying until you see the number 9 appear in upper left corner. A nice new upconvert DVD player that plays any DVD, and it got a great rating on, too. All for less than $100 including tax. So, if you do have a DVD player that you'd like to convert, you can try it. The site does WARN that any action you take may invalidate the warranty, so try it at your own risk.
All I can say is that I've never had a problem. Best of luck. Like this article? Attention PHLY95. Regarding using VLC Media Player to watch other Region Coded DVD's (and BluRay Discs) on your Computer. Yes, that's true, but you have to Change The Country Setting on your Computer to the Country/Region of the Video that you want to watch. Then you have to change it back again to your Local Country/Region.
You have to do this Every Time you want to watch a different Region Video. You can only Change It 4 Times after you have Initially set it to Your Local Country Location. Once it has been changed to the 5th Location Setting, it Stays There and You Cannot change it again: and if it is set on a Region other than Your Local Country, you can't change it back. I purchased the LC-516M in Korea and have succesfully set this to code free. I purchase a number of DVDs at full price from the U.S.
And thus see no issue with setting the DVD player to play multiple codes. Turn DVD player on without any disc in the tray. 'No Disc' should appear on the screen. Press 'Pause' using the remote. Nothing will come on to the screen at this stage. Using the remote press 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9 4.
The screen will now show a prompt for a new code 'Code -' 5. Press '0' for universal code. Press 'Pause' again.
'No Disc' should appear on the screen again meaning that you are all set to go. Hey just read on some site and same issue.just try it maybe it will help. Converting the player to Multi-Region: 1. Power on the player with no disk in the drive. Wait for the 'No Disc' message to appear.
Press Pause on the Remote. Enter 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9 on the Remote (the word COdE or FF appears on the display). Enter 0 on the Remote (0 = All Regions, 1 = Region 1, 2 = Region 2, etc.). Press Pause on the Remote. Power the player off, wait 30 seconds and then power back on.
NB: If the above code fails to work then once the player has displayed the 'No disc' message press Stop before entering the above code. Checking Firmware version: 1. Press Setup on the Remote. Select TV Aspect. Place the cursor on 16:9 wide. Enter 1, 3, 9, 7, 1, 3, 9 on the Remote. Press Enter on the Remote.

Power on the DVD player. Glad I found a forum that isn't 2 years old.
I moved to Chile (Region 4), and brought all my USA bought movies(Region 1), with me. So I bought an inexpensive DVD player, but now only some of the movies can be played. The player is by Global home, yet I can not find ANY webpage or information on this brand. It is not listed on other websites that offer the codes, and I'm just really frustrated at this point.
Dvd Region Hack Codes
Not even the manual has any manufacturer info. This DVD player has a USB port, which I figured would be great so that I can watch the movies in my laptop, yet I cant even get it to open them. The most information I can provide by looking at the actual player is; Model: DVD-0081, Serial No.: KW-67, Made in China. Any help and suggestions will be appreciated. Does anyone know how to change the region on this English DVD. We are wanting to play DVD's from Australia, Region 4. Thanks Editor's note (3/4/09) - This is an anonymous tip we received about this DVD player today.
Use at your own risk. I found the 314159 solution above works for more than one LG version. Even one with no display - just go through the steps in sequential order.
Switch off ac mains - Switch on ac mains - Use remote control - Press power key (unit will come on) - Wait untill no disc appears - Press sequentially: Pause, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9, - 'code' will appear (or FF) - Press 0 (multizone) - Press sequentially Pause, Power - Unit will turn off (standby) - If you do not succeed first attempt, disconnect unit, and repreat steps. Recently found out and used the code to change my dvd from region 4 to region 9 allowing me to play several dvds sent by family from overseas for the first time. However, now I find I am unable to play any region 4 (new or old) whether on region 9 and I can't change the code back to 4. I have been following the instructions to the letter. A friend said I may have to change the dvd player back to factory defaults and start again, however, samsung cannot help me with this. Can anyone suggest anything? Don't want to have to replave the dvd player and start over again.
I have spent most the evening now and the better half of yesterday trying to find the procedure for the Samsung DVD-VR375. My was born 2008.04, and I've used all the tips and ways that I think are out there, for this region 1 unit (29334).
Some say open open DVD door, some don't mention it, some have you enter another code before your region code, others do not. Either way I cannot get it to work, some say you will see a flash of the code, but once I hit that menu button, that's all I see, and nothing else appears when I follow through with adding or pressing any more buttons. Please, I'm hoping someone does have the procedure, because I'm getting near to the procedure of the 'sledge hammer and the check book'! Thanks in advance!
DVD Player Hacks Updated Add 3 user region code comments December 19, 2012 I have not tested this myself. I got the info from Switch the player on.
When it's booted up hold down CLEAR on remote and EJECT on the front panel of your dvd player simultaneously for about 6 seconds. You will see a list of codes WRITE THEM ALL DOWN exactly as you see them (in case you mess up as it is really easy to do!!!) Left/right arrows on remote take you through the onscreen codes, Up/down changes through 0-9/ a-z Change OP6 from ae (or whatever yours is set at) to 8e. Press Enter and then menu/list on your remote. Your player will reboot.
Now your player is Multi region. Although tricky, the hack works. Make sure you write all the numbers and letters down, as is urged in the hack above. It's easy to mess up on the first try as you get used to using the east-west buttons on the remote to navigate vertically, then the north-south buttons to change letters and numbers. In my case the unit did not re-boot by itself after shutting down. After restarting from the remote I tested Region 1 and 2 dvds and they worked flawlessly.
Lg Hacks And Codes
I can confirm that this works perfectly. So easy to do, east west keys move cursor from field to field, up/down keys change the content of highlighted field 1 DVD Hack hits, Showing 1 to 1 DVD Hacks.
This is how you change the region code on LG DVD Players. Remove Disc Step 2. Press the following keys in succession Pause 3141590 ok Pause Step 3. Return the Disc In this video I was changing a Region 5 DVD player from Africa in order to play an American region 1 disc. What about LG Home theaters? The same method applies to Hometheaters. For the DP132 model, this method works you just need a remote control with the numeric keypad.
The model DP132 does NOT come with the numeric remote. For more information on Region codes, check this link out What are DVD and Blu-ray Region Codes?
DVD Player Hacks Updated Add 15 user region code comments July 22, 2018 1- Power on the dvd player without any disc on it. 2- Press the PAUSE button and then the following numbers 3 1 4 1 5 9 3- Then you will be asked which region you want to set up. 0 = All regions. 1 = Region 1.
2 = Region 2 etc. 4- Then press pause again. Then power off the dvd, and then turn it on.
That its all. Kinda hard to use this hack since there are no number buttons on the remote.
1.Switch on the DVD player without any Disc inside 2.The screen should display 'no disc' 3.Eject to open the DVD tray 4.While the tray is open, press the 'STOP' button then hold the 'ENTER' button for 5 seconds 5. A new screen will appear (Regional Management Test Code) which will allow you to change the region code using the up and down arrow keys on the remote control. Change the code to '0' and press the PAUSE key to exit thanks Larry Lurex from fixya. Tried this and it worked. The hack listed (stop/ enter 5 seconds) does not work on a region1 player purchased in Canada manufactured in Sept 2016 the hack does not work! Do u have any new hacks on the LG DP132??
My personal experience in the past 3 years suggests that this machine may have had a working hack at one time, but no longer does. I've had several store bought players from different manufacturers which had remote hacks. These machines have either been removed from the local stores or replaced by ones which can no longer be hacked with the remote. I tend to believe that this is more of a problem in region 1 than it is anywhere else. I've also noticed that the price of pre-hacked machines has risen sharply in the past 2 years, which suggests smaller inventory and/or higher import duty. Whatever the reason, easily hacked players from the local store seem to be vanishing, at least in amurca.
I used the February bakuhack post and it worked because the remote doesn’t have any numbers Tried both 1) PAUSE and STOP, ENTER hack - no luck 2) With the numbers on the remote - no luck Does anyone have any new hacks for LG DP132? LG DP132H model, region 2, manufactured October 2017.
Remote is LG COV3366 2803, boxed with player. Press 000, see region management test mode window Set to 0 Press pause/step button to save setting and exit Now plays region 1 discs. Doesn’t work the remote control is different to the description, my model is COV33662707, I press the “000” and nothing. Does anyone have any new hacks for LG DP132?
Magnavox Dvd Region Code Hack![]()
The codes using the remote worked for me. Model: LG 132H manufactured February 2018, locked to region 2 remote LG COV33662801 BUT the old CD-R hack did!!! It's the same as LG DP542H (- Create a directory and subdirectory RMTM0000 SCARLET - Create an empty file named KPJC191.DVD Edit the file with a hex editor and set the bytes to: 17 17 8C 00 The file size must be 4 bytes. Or If you don't know how to use a hex editor, google for 'KPJC191.DVD' or 'LG montblanc.dvd'. (download link: and copy it in RMTM0000 SCARLET and (re)name it 'KPJC191.DVD' - Burn the directory on a CD-R (format ISO-9660, no specific LABEL).
I used ImgBurn for Windows. Make sure the burned CD contains all the directories and the file: RMTM0000 SCARLET KPJC191.DVD - Now power on your LG 132H drive. Put your CD in it and a blue menu with pop up asking to choose a new region code. Enter 0 and press PAUSE to save the new region. The 314159 hack works on the region 5 model i just bought. It didn't work on either of the 2 region 1 models i've had. I suspect that many hacks which work on region 2-6 machines won't work on a region 1 machine.
It is important, when posting hacks, to include the manufacture date & the machine's region code, since newer region 1 players are mostly not hackable anymore. How to change player to a region 2 from region 1 Thanks for the lg DP123 hack worked great, do you have one for a lg BP240 blue ray DVD if not thanks anyway sheran The Hack recommended by bakuhack in Feb 2017 for the LG DP 132 worked beautifully. It was simple and quick and very effective 1 DVD Hack hits, Showing 1 to 1 DVD Hacks.
